FAQ About Camp at Camino Farms

Who staffs these camps?

Campers are supported by trained coaches, counselors and program staff throughout the day and evening. We place campers in small groups for individualized attention and strong relationships.

Do staff stay overnight in cabins?

Yes. Staff are present in cabins overnight to ensure safety, consistency, and emotional support

How do you handle emotional and behavioral needs?

Staff at Camino Farms are grounded in trauma-informed, dignity-centered care. They are trained to support anxiety, emotional regulation, and moments of overwhelm. Challenges are met with patience, respect, and individualized support.

My camper needs routines and structure. Does camp support that?

Yes. Daily routines emphasize predictability, clear expectations, and gentle transitions. Quiet spaces and breaks are always available when needed. We have consistent evening routines, with Lights Out at 10:00PM every night to promote rest and comfort.

How do you support daily living and personal care needs?

Campers receive support with daily routines appropriate to their level of independence. Personal hygiene and showering are supported respectfully, with privacy and dignity always prioritized.

Do I need to pack food? Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

All meals and snacks are provided throughout the week via our on-site chef. Please communicate your food allergies and dietary needs at registration and they will be accommodated.

What medical care is available at camp?

Nurses are available on-site throughout the week to support medical needs. Medications are securely stored and administered according to parent/guardian instructions. We have clear procedures and protocols for medical needs, injuries, illness, and emergencies.

How do you communicate with families?

Parents will receive communication throughout the week with updates on camp life. We’ll send photos after the camp experience is over to celebrate our week together. Phone calls home are handled thoughtfully on a case-by-case basis if needed.

Can I stay nearby the camp during the week?

Camino Farms has partnered with Bear Creek Mountain Resort to offer discounted hotel rates for parents during camp week. Details will be shared prior to camp.

What if camp is not a fit for my camper?

If at any point we believe a camper is not having a positive or safe experience, we will communicate promptly and work closely with families to determine next steps.
