“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
Our Why
The stewardship of Camino Farms began in January 2023, when Pierce and Katie Keating acquired the property at 16 Kutztown Road. Their primary reason for opening Camino Farms is simple: to share the love and presence of the Divine they so innately experienced when they visited this special property.
In their 50 years of walking through life hand in hand, Katie and Pierce have never taken for granted the blessings they’ve received – the opportunities they’ve been given, the communities that have embraced them, and most of all, the faith that has carried them through it all. It’s this same faith, rooted in Catholic social teaching, that inspires their deep sense of responsibility to others: to uphold human dignity, care for the vulnerable, and work toward a more just and compassionate world. Guided by the Gospel and the words of Luke 12:48 (“To whom much is given, much is expected”), they felt called to give back in a meaningful way. Camino Farms was born from that call: a labor of love and a tangible expression of gratitude, created to serve others, especially those who are often overlooked or longing for a place to feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.
And why Camino Farms?
Over 10 years ago, Katie and Pierce traveled the Camino de Santiago (or Way of St. James), a historic Christian pilgrimage route that dates to the 9th century. They both found the experience life-changing, for it combines physical journey, personal reflection, and communal experience in a way that seemed to deeply affect all persons they met —regardless of their original reason for walking.
“Camino,” meaning “way” or “path,” was also how the first Christians referred to their community, and it’s our prayer that all who come here will find their way to belonging, beauty, and God’s immense love.
Our Immediate Mission
Rooted in the spirit of collaboration and service, we aim to come alongside organizations already walking with the marginalized—supporting and amplifying their mission in meaningful ways.
